Sue in order for your Kindle to work 'anywhere' you don't need to have it on Wifi all the time. You only need it on for downloading and if Wifi's switched off I believe it saves on battery power too?...

I download books onto my Kindle but they also appear on the Kindle App on my iPad so I can choose which device I want to read on or flit from one to the other to read a book. Barbara x
